2019 Gold Proof Sovereign Benedetto Pistrucci’s famous portrayal of St. George slaying the dragon is depicted on the reverse of the coin. Queen Elizabeth II’s portrait can be seen on the obverse, designed by Jody Clark. The sovereign is made of solid 22 carat gold (Gold Fineness of 0.916), and weighs 7.98 grams. It has a diameter of 22.05mm. The 2018 gold proof sovereign is housed in its original Royal Mint wooden presentation case, with outer black card box and maroon sleeve, accompanied with an individually numbered certificate of authenticity.
